Hapkido Hapkido is another Korean martial art, which has come to be know as the "Street Fighter Art". Hapkido is derived from "Hap" meaning to blend, "Ki" meaning energy, or internal power, and "Do" meaning the way. When roughly translated, Hapkido means: "The way of blending energy". Hapkido is considered the perfect complimentary or mirror art to Tae Kwon Do, it combines the kicks and punches of Tae Kwon Do and Karate, with the falling and grappling techniques of Jujitsu and Aikido, and the throwing and wrestling techniques of Judo. It provides different techniques to use in different situations. |
